Austin Energy seeks an experienced Project Lead to manage project metrics and project teams. This position will support the Austin Energy team by using data to coordinate schedules for various departments and projects, outline and plan projects, and various support functions. The Project Lead position will be focused on scheduling and planning specifications for Austin Energy projects, from start to finish.

Years Skills/Experience
1-3 years Level 1: 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
1-3 years Microsoft Office Suite (or similar software)

1-3 years

Advanced level use Microsoft Project Application

  1. Plan, schedule, or coordinate project activities to meet deadlines.
  2. Coordinate and schedule field construction and maintenance projects.
  3. Track status of projects and reports to a range of audiences.
  4. Plan projects by determining crew size and composition, work hour requirements, and equipment requirements.
  5. Prepare work order schedules, control records, and post schedules.
  6. Communicate project and/or program information to internal and external customers.
 
 
  1. Ensure compliance with City and other regulatory agency requirements and policies.
  2. Meet with project managers, engineers, and contractors to discuss schedule-related data
  3. Monitor project milestones and deliverables.
  4. Confer with personnel to assess progress and discuss necessary changes.
  5. Revise schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions in collaboration with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering.
  6. Schedule operational activities.
Years Knowledge Skills and Abilities
3+
  1. Knowledge of construction projects common to utilities.
  2. Knowledge of workforce requirements and work output for field construction crews.
  3. Knowledge of equipment and construction techniques common to utility construction practices.
  4. Knowledge of standards, common concepts, and procedures within a relevant field.
  5. Ability to review and summarize project status reports.
  6. Ability to maintain records and metrics of project phase.
  7. Ability to maintain a workforce schedule.
  8. Ability to maintain work function and progress under limited supervision.
  9. Skilled in self-management and workshopping/implementing creative ideas
